One minute you're driving along an arid plateau; the next minute you're plunging a thousand feet into the cold, clear Frio River.  Yes! You drive in the river.  Upstream to get there, downstream to leave . . . the symbolism is rich.

Handcrafted by passionate, skilled artisans, the facilities seem to flow naturally from the surroundings.  The Laity Lodge complex includes lodge rooms, all meticulously, lovingly maintained by staff members, some of whom have served Laity Lodge guests for decades.  Gourmet meals are served in the dining room for an average of sixty to sixty-five guests. The Great Hall hosts retreat sessions with speakers and guests in an oversized living room.  A well-stocked library and tightly packed bookstore may tempt you away from the river's edge.  Or, you might discover some artistic skills and fresh playfulness in the state-of-the-art Cody Center.  The facilities are knit together by paths and trails set in the splendor of a long and winding canyon.
